Aurora Young and Kelly Prchal were invited to present at the Merchant Medicine 2017 ConvUrgent Care Strategy Symposium held January 23-25 at the Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale Arizona. An invitation-only event, the Symposium brings together senior executives from independent providers, medical groups and large health systems with a vested interest in urgent care and retail health strategy.
As access to care continues to surface as a top healthcare issue, patients are seeking new access points to respond to acute healthcare needs. Providers and health systems continue to observe how the convenience of walk-in care is both important and attractive to an increasing portion of their patient population.
Because provider compensation and recruitment are some of the largest challenges facing many providers of urgent care today, Aurora and Kelly were asked to give the exclusive group of attendees an introduction to urgent care compensation plan design and incentive development. The presentation also included a preview of compensation data being collected for the co-sponsored Gallagher Integrated and Merchant Medicine 2017 Urgent Care Compensation Survey, the most comprehensive compensation and production survey published specific to urgent care providers. The data collection period for that survey has closed and the final report is anticipated to be published in April of this year.
